Tragic New Zealand shooting: 49 DEAD and 48 injured in horrifying mosque massacre

FORTY nine people were killed and 48 seriously injured in shootings at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand in the country’s worst-ever mass shooting, which Prime Minister Jacinta Arden said was a terrorist attack.

Three others are in custody.

All four people held extremist views but had not been on police watch lists.

2.20pm update: Corbyn lays wreath after terror attack 

Jeremy Corbyn has laid a wreath outside the entrance to the High Commission of New Zealand in London.

A note attached to the wreath read: “In deep sadness at the tragic loss of life.

“In their memory let us build a world of diversity and respect.”

He then went inside the building where he met the high commissioner Sir Jerry Mateparae.
